Religion and Our Human Identity Today
At no time in our modern history religion seemed to have defined our human identity very dominantly, exclusive of all other identities, than as it is today. However, what religion means in its true sense, in terms of actualising finer human qualities such as love, compassion, justice, empathy, forgiveness and upholding human rights in our lives, seems to matter less and less, as a vile form of religious frenzy is rapidly engulfing all of us. Today, religion seems to be a prisoner, in the hands of so many believers themselves, actually. I think it is time now we recaputure the true essence of religion, whatever religion we fellow.
